Transportation

Transport: Amsterdam -ESB (bus service)

European School Student Bus Association (ESSB) – Set up by a group families based in Amsterdam to self-organise collective transport to ES ÌÇÐÄlogo for their children i.e. private initiative of Amsterdam parents. While we liaise with the school and the school’s Parents Association when necessary, we are an independent, KvK-registered body, represented and run by parent volunteers.

Framework agreement between ESSB and the transport service provider.

How does the bus service work?

We cover Amsterdam-Zuid: 23 students use the bus in 2026-27.

Starting September 2025: We grouped pickup and drop-off points. Maximum two stops on the route.

No more « first picked up, first dropped off ». We choose the shortest route to the school, priority to boulevards and avoiding side streets.

The result: reduced total travel time, less aleatory changes (unplanned change of itinerary due to sickness, increase of travel time due to new student address etc), a more reliable schedule.

The bus has space for 30 students.

In the morning: pick-up at 7:40-7:50 (depending on the stop); arrival at 8:35. The first bell is at 8:55, lessons start at 9:00.

Buses leave school at 16:30 (as well as 13:20 on Wednesdays and Fridays). Return to the bus stop at 17:30-17:35 (depending on the bus stop).

Routes are designed so that the travel times does not exceed 75 minutes (there could be delays due to traffic jams).

Annual cost: school year 2026/27 – Between 3.200 and 3.500 € VAT incl. (annual indexation) depending on the bus occupancy rate.
